Iowa Home Prices are on the Rise

According to a news release from the Iowa Association of Realtors®, home prices are still going up and sales are steady throughout Iowa. “The IAR’s March 2013 Housing Trends Report shows the median price across Iowa increased by 5.9 percent, climbing from $118,000 in March 2012 to $125,000 in March 2013. Similarly, the average sale price increased 4.4 percent. The average sale price was $138,265 last March and $144,372 this March.” Sales across the state increased by 0.7 percent with just 18 more homes selling last month than last March. Best Cities for Seniors

When you think about retiring, you generally dream about sunny beaches, warm climates and endless golf courses, but according to a recent report for the best small cities for senior citizens to live in, Iowa makes 5 on a list of the top100 with Cedar Rapids ranking 60th for ages of those between 65 to 79 with a score of 84.35 out of 100.
